In January 2012 I started a new career as a coordinator in the Criminal Justice Academy Program at St. Petersburg College. I was previously employed as a police officer for the City of Pinellas Park. I have served in various capacities and sections the 27 years, including patrol operations, criminal investigations, traffic operations, bicycle unit, community policing, and more. I have performed collateral duties as a traffic homicide investigator, firearms instructor, and SWAT team member/leader.
I have been instructing, both at my agency and in the SPC police academy for more than ten years. I completed my education while employed full time. I have been married for 25 years to my awesome wife and have three greeat children. I have first hand experience in maintaining a family life and full time job while working on my educational goals. Like many of our students, I have been working on my education over the long term. I feel this helps me understand what many of our students are working through during our courses.
