Hello!

My name is Dr. Mary Haumschild. I completed three degrees from SPC (Go Titans!). I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and also a Registered Nurse. I have worked in private dental practice for 35 years and also 5 years combined as a CCU/ICU Nurse at Morton Plant Hospital and Emory University Hospital. I have two Bachelor degrees: one for Nurses with a concentration in Health Care Administration and the other is the BASDH from SPC. I taught as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Dental Hygiene Associate degree program at St. Petersburg College and currently in the Bachelors in Applied Science in Heath Services Administration (HSA) online program and also in the Bachelors in Applied Science Dental Hygiene program, both at SPC. I also completed a course in Medical Research for CRA (Clinical Research Associate) training. The ink has dried on my Masters in Health Science with a Higher Education Concentration and the Doctor of Health Science degrees. This path was perfect for me with the research and education focus. I was appointed as a National Advisory Board Member for the University of Florida and currently serve as a Board Member for Nova Southeastern University Doctor of Health Science Interprofessional/Interdisciplinary Annual Conference.

On a personal note, my husband is a Doctor of Pharmacy and an Advisory Board Member for the SPC HSA program. We have one son. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). He completed his MBA in Healthcare Administration and graduated with his Doctorate from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). He completed an Internship at the distinguished Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. and recently completed his Residency at The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!), while also completing another Masters degree there simultaneously. But the most exciting thing in our life is our two granddaughters!!

You are to be commended for continuing on with your education. It is important to be a life-long learner in the dynamic field of healthcare. I look forward to interacting and learning along with you in this “virtual” classroom, which is the future in higher education. Nice to “e-meet” you all.
My goal is to assist you in being successful in reaching your goals!  I look forward to a great semester!

Warm Regards,

Dr. Mary Haumschild RDH, RN, BA-HCA, BASDH, CRA, MHSc, DHSc
