James E. Jackson, III is a native of St. Petersburg, FL, and a product of Pinellas County Schools graduating from Dixie M. Hollins High School (now Hollins High School) in 2004. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from South Carolina State University in 2010 and a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in American History from American Public University in 2018. Additionally, Mr. Jackson is currently a doctoral candidate in the process of completing his dissertation research toward a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree with a specialization in Organizational Leadership at Northcentral University.

Mr. Jackson is certified by the state of Florida's Department of Education in the subject area of 6-12 Social Sciences and has taught for Pinellas County Schools for over 10 years at the following schools and courses:
  • Azalea Middle School (2010-13): 6th Grade Geography, 7th Grade Geography, and 7th Grade Civics.
  • Oak Grove Middle School (2013-20): 6th Grade U.S. History, 6th Grade Advanced U.S. History, 7th Grade Civics, 7th Grade World History & Career Planning, 8th Grade U.S. History & Career Planning, and 8th Grade Advanced U.S. History & Career Planning.
  • Lakewood High School (2020- ): Advance Placement Capstone Research, Advance Placement Psychology, Apex Learning (Social Studies Courses), Economics, Edmentum (Social Studies Courses), Psychology I, Sociology, and U.S. History Honors.

Mr. Jackson is a member of the South Carolina State University Alumni Association, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., National Council of the Social Studies, Florida Council of the Social Studies, Pinellas Council of the Social Studies, Pinellas County Teachers Association, and The National Society of Leadership and Success. Mr. Jackson began teaching for St. Petersburg College on September 11, 2018, and has taught the following courses: The College Experience, African-American History, History of the United States I, and History of the United States II.
