I earned my Ph.D. in Interdiscplinary Humanities from Florida State Universerty in 2010. My dissertation research focused on primetime serial televison and post-9/11 American culture. I've published book chapters and articles on a variety of television series including The Wire, Battlestar Galactica, and Lost.

At their core, the humanities encompass the study of what makes us human. Who are we? Where did we come from? Where are we going? What does it all mean? In my humanities courses, we explore how different people from different times and different places have attempted to answer these questions. We learn how to critically engage with and analyze primary source texts from a variety of discplines from the visual arts and media to literature film.
