Gregory Thompson is a professional actor and professor of Humanities and History, based in St Petersburg Florida.  His stage credits include productions of 12 Angry Men, Wait Until Dark, The Mousetrap, Judgement at Nuremberg, Blithe Spirit, Broadway Bound* and Last of the Red Hot Lovers (Stageworks); Taming of the Shrew, Much Ado About Nothing, Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, and Hamlet (St Pete Shakespeare): Betrayal and Cat on A Hot Tin Roof (Tampa Rep). Greg also directed, and originated the role of Matthew, in East Lansing, winner of the 2014 Tampa Bay Theater Festival for Full Length Play. Other theatre credits include writing and directing An Evangelist Drowns (a one-woman show based on the life of Aimee Semple McPherson); adapting and directing productions of Richard III, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest and Much Ado About Nothing (Rogers State University and St Petersburg Shakespeare Festival). He is a Tampa International Fringe Festival Award winner (2019).  Greg's theatrical education includes degrees in theater from Florida State University and the University of South Florida. In addition, he has studied acting at the Goodman Theater and Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago.

Gregory has a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Humanities along with Masters in Religious Studies and in Theater Studies.  His teaching subjects range from American History to global approaches to Arts and Culture.  He has profound interest in sustiniability and social justice issues.
